First off, my apologies for my earlier remarks when I was irritated at the Post Office. It's rough, at times, being a grumpy old man. I have now ordered and received three sets of these and the Serenity pipes. They were inscribed (in English) with the names of two daughters as a memorial. As to if they'll be smoked by us or just simply held and looked at as a Memorial to my daughters (by me and their sisters), I don't know. But regardless, they were beautifully done and will keep memories alive.
I'd give this, I'm sure, a positive review if I ever receive it. But, it seems, the US Post service won't deliver unless I'm listening for their gentle knocks at the door. Hell, I'm 67 years old. Why do I have to put up with this?????????????????
Light weight, aesthetically pleasing and a great piece to have on display. The pipe also has a nice bowl and smokes great!
Beautiful pipe. I've been piping for many years and wanted a pipe with no man made material. Not a fan of clay. Felt glad to find a crafter who made what I had been seeking. I do note that the stem is very loose. Hoping it will fit properly after the complete break in period. My only problem with Flogglewerks was deciding which of the beautiful styles to choose. I will be back for more. Thank you. Terry
I've been a pipe smoker and churchwarden collector for over 40 years and when I found out about Flogglewerks from a friend of mine I decided to give them a try. My first purchase from the artisans at Flogglewerks was the Exotic churchwarden with the option of a cherry bowl and I was very pleased with it. I was very taken by their innovative double bowl design. This has actually been around for years in one form or another but Flogglewerks has simplified it and it works great keeping the bowl cooler than most. I decided to give the Myrtle bowl a try and ordered 2 Tauriel churchwardens with my wife's name branded on one and her first cats name branded on the other. The pipes are beautiful, light and very well made. The myrtle bowl broke in quite nicely. The issue most talked about in reviews both on Flogglewerks and elsewhere concerning the stem being a bit loose at first seemed to resolve itself once the pipe broke in. This is a characteristic of handmade all wood pipes that do not have a traditional securing system with pipe to bowl not just Flogglewerks. I would not hold the pipe from the stem until the stem seats itself properly. In my experience with all 3 of my Flogglewerks pipes, this took about a week. Your time may differ depending on how much you smoke and your break in time. I enjoy the wood stem but for those of you that are teeth clinchers I would recommend adding a rubber pipe bit cover to avoid damage to the wood stem. However, I find that this is not necessary if one holds the stem between the lips whilst holding the bowl. Flogglewerks has gone to great lengths to design their pipe bowls to be easy to hold and fit naturally in the hand, so take advantage of it. I fully intend to purchase all of Flogglewerks wonderful designs to add to my churchwarden collection with the cherry, myrtle and maple bowls.

It is the best pipe I have ever owned and I have some very expensive pipes and this one smokes cooler and smother than any of them. Fast shipping and the customer service is incomparable to anywhere else!!! I well definitely be purchasing more itames from floggle werks!!! If you want a superior hand made pipe for an unbeatable price you want floggle werks!!! I highly recommend them!
I bought this pipe a few months ago during the summer and it has been a great smoker. However, the stem developed a crack as the air grew more damp and upon inspection of the crack I noticed that the wood was paper thin near the crook. I assume this is a one-off thing and have put tape on the crack until I can order a replacement stem. Other than that an amazing pipe fits well smokes cool and is very relaxing.
Beautiful construction - the stem and bowl fit very well and the myrtlewood has a wonderful grain. My spouse enjoys using the Tauriel but wishes that there was a vent hole on the side...
